OpenPlant Modeler Help

Trayline Manager

The Trayline Manager is a utility that provides interface to create, modify and manage the traylines in the model.

Accessed from:

Trayline Grid

The Trayline grid list all of the traylines currently defined in the model as well as the properties defined for each trayline. The name of the trayline is listed in the Name column with the additional properties listed in the adjacent columns.

The order of the columns can be rearranged using the drag and drop method. A default set of property columns are displayed, however, additional property columns can be added or removed from the grid using the right-click context menu. (See Sort Columns section below)

Trayline Grid Toobar Options

The Trayline Manager has a series of command icons at the top of the Trayline grid which provide the following options to create/edit/manipulate the Trayline in the model:

Check Connectivity The Connectivity Checker option checks for proper connectivity along trayline runs. Disconnects are displayed in the Connectivity Checker dialog. It should be noted that Modeler checks for connectivity during normal routing activities. Reasons for improper connections are most commonly a result of moving or copying components, then improperly placing them at new locations.
Create Trayline Displays the Create Trayline dialog allowing you to create a new trayline and define properties for the line. From this dialog you are also able to assign project associations to the pipeline.
Edit Trayline Displays a modified version of the Create Trayline dialog which allows you to edit existing properties and/or define additional properties for the selected pipeline.
Delete Trayline Deletes the selected trayline. If the trayline has components assigned to it, a message displays prompting you to either delete the components or move them (See Below) to another trayline before you perform the delete option.
Move Trays Will move the selected components of one trayline to another trayline. Displays the Select Trayline dialog listing the existing traylines in the project to choose from. Select the desired trayline from the list and click OK to move the selected components.
Generate Segments Identifies the changes in tray size and automatically splits the lines into separate segments.

Components Grid

The Components grid displays at the bottom right of the Trayline Manager and lists the components associated with the selected trayline(s). Components from multiple lines can be displayed simultaneously if desired.

A list of toolbar options are available for the components list. Please refer to the table below for detailed information on the options provided in this toolbar:
Component Selection Three options are available for quick multi-component selection:
  • Select All: Enables the checkbox next to all of the components in the list.
  • De-Select All: Disables the checkbox for all components in the list.
  • Invert Selection: Will invert whatever the current selection is. (For Example: If currently all but six components are selected, this option will enable the six not currently selected, and disable the remaining components)
View Options The following options are available:
  • Zoom: Zoom into the selected component
  • Isolate: Hides all other components in the model except for the selected component.
  • Highlight: Highlights the selected component in the model.
  • Select: Select a group of components in the grid and click this button to form a selection set of components in the model that you will be able to manipulate using standard commands.
Select Select a component(s) from the grid and click this button to highlight in the drawing.

Tray Segments Grid

The Trayline Segments grid displays the segments created using the Generate Segments option. You can view the segments for the different Traylines by selecting them in the top grid. Each system will display its own set of segments in the grid.

The segments grid also has columns providing values for certain properties. You can control which property columns are displayed by right-clicking in the grid and using the context menu to toggle columns on or off. Additional property options are available from the Choose Details dialog which displays when you select More... from the context menu.
